SCREEN , saw Karan Arjun in a sneak preview. The film, a reincarnation (s)tale, is a tedious affair. For a change you want to stay in your seat in the songs and go out for a smoke during the rest of the film. However Salman Khan, is endearing in this otherwise difficult-to endure film.

In sharp contrast to Salman Khan's portrayal as angry youngman stole thunder from the Shah Rukh. Salman plays his role with a quiet dignity. And a ruggedness that is accentuated with a display of rippling muscles. (He gets a lot of opportunity to show off his physique as he plays a prize fighter).

SCREEN found the film too long, but trade pundits predict that it will be a blockbuster. Says Trade Guide Editor, Taran Adarsh, "Karan Arjun is a smash hit. The film has opened to 100 per cent collections. Umesh Mehra, the exhibitor of the film (Minerva cinema) just spoke to me this morning and said there is no stopping the film. In Hyderabad where the advance booking system is not so popular, the film is housefull for the next five days. Lucknow too has had a week's show full in advance - something the city has never witnessed before."
